Who are we:

The Phoenix Herpetological Sanctuary (PHS) is the southwest’s premiere zoological facility dedicated to instilling a sense of active stewardship for our planet’s reptiles and amphibians. Over the last 22 years, PHS has become responsible for the largest collection of reptiles in the United States! Interns in this position will have the opportunity to learn animal husbandry skills from our sanctuary’s staff and apply them in real time with a multitude of different species.

As a part of this internship, you will collaborate directly with our sanctuary’s keeper staff. Daily tasks will vary from maintenance (cleaning, food prep, enclosure repair, etc.) to feeding and assisting our animal care management or medical staff with specific tasks. Work will take place in a dynamic outdoor setting, and we encourage applicants to consider weather-proof clothing, boots, etc. We have a small team, so your tasks will have a substantial impact on our overall efforts.
